There are three stages to developing the Irish Autism Registry. The first phase of registry is the pilot phase. The pilot phase will take place in the Kildare/West Wicklow catchment. We estimate that there are over 600 children and adolescents with ASD living in this particular area.
The Irish Autism Registry has been designed by researchers in TCD, NUIG and experts in the field of ASD in order to assess the needs of people with ASD in Ireland today. The survey addresses four key areas
- The profile and needs of individuals with ASD – this will provide information on level of ASD severity and associated deficits such as speech and language delays, sensory motor deficits and sensory sensitivities.
- The presence or absence of challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties.
- Access to Clinical services
- The psychosocial and emotional impact of caring for a child with ASD
Information provided by families to the Irish Autism Registry will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Every family that participates will be instrumental in helping children with ASD in Ireland reach their full potential. We would be very grateful for your participation.
The survey can be filled out via email, telephone or post. If you or anyone you know is a parent of child with ASD and living in the Kildare/West Wicklow area and would be interested in taking part, please click on the link below.
